"...have a Happy Holiday..."

The title is just a line from one of the songs in our Christmas Concert. We do, indeed, hope you had a happy holiday that you had a chance to attend our presentation of some wonderful Christmas favorites.  Our audience totaled over 240 people. This continues a great trend toward larger audiences and better performances.  In addition to some traditional favorites, we had a couple of creative arrangements of some familiar tunes.  "Have a Happy Holiday" was just one of several songs that had a delightful twist to the old familiar.  It was fun learning the music and, it appears, it was enjoyable to listen to as well.  Our Comment Cards provide us with much appreciated feedback. Here are a few of the best comments...

  • "The Lake Ridge Chorale rocks!"
  • "The audience responded best to the song, Good News, Great Joy.  The programs should always have a few of these types of songs as they bring out the best harmony and show the talent of the choir."
  • "Nova, Nova" worked particularly well. Possibly the best piece of the concert."
  • Beautiful voices!  Definitely put me in the Christmas Sprit.  Loved the variety of songs performed. Thank you."
  • "Great sound!  Full bodied - nice.  All selections were well done indeed.  Bravo to all.  "The First Noel/Pachelbel's Canon" was heavenly! Wow."

There were so many comments that showed just how much our audience appreciated the program.  Thanks to all who submitted their cards. It helps us greatly in gauging your experience and knowing what to keep and what to change.

We hope to see you soon for the Faure Requiem.  It will held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton church on March 29, 2019 and will take full advantage of their newly installed Pipe Organ.  Nearly a dozen instrumentalis will join the Chorale.  We are currently looking for a talented harpist to round out the complement of instruments.  The program will also include sectional soloists performing movements written specifically for the part.
