Its Christmas at the Kennedy Center!

WOW!  Our thanks go out to our Creative Director, Terry Stackley for arranging for us to perform alongside 200+ other choral singers and the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra this past Christmas Season.  On Dec 23, 2016 we were priviledged to perform Handel's Messiah in front of over 2000 members of the audience who eagerly sang along with us.  It rocked not just the house, but our souls as well.  The concert also included wonderful performances from soloists not directly associated with the Celebration Singers, Elizabeth Kluegel-Niblock (Soprano), Annette S. Singletary (Mezzo-soprano), Matthew Loyal Smith (Tenor) and Bob McDonald (Baritone).  These singers provided the power and beauty intended by the composer.

Be sure to check out the website of the amazing woman who conducted this extravaganza, Nancia D'Aimonte.  With energy, humor, and skill she guided this massive collection of musicians and singers through this beautiful arrangement.  We were also privileged to experience the talents of our Guest Conductor, Barry S Hemphill, the Artistic Director of the Metropolitan Chorus from 1997 to 2015, as he directed the most famous movement from that composition, the "Hallelujah Chorus."

It was an wonderful night, one that I'm sure few of us in the Celebration Singers will ever forget the experience.
